Jen-Fa Huang Error Performance of BPSK-Modulated Radio Transmissions over Optical CDMA Network
Chao-Chin Yang,Jen-Fa Huang,Kai-Sheng Chen,Jia-Cyuan Kuo,

Maximal-length sequence (M-sequence) codes are used for radio-over-fiber (RoF) scheme based on spectral-amplitude-coding (SAC) optical CDMA network for interference elimination. The binary phase-shift keying (BPSK) signal is modulated on a radio frequency (RF) carrier. And the system is simulated by the software of Optisystem. The simulated error rate performance of M-sequence codes is compared with the value of theory.

Yuan-Yuan Sung Chirp Management for Long Reach TWDM-PON Systems Based on Direct Modulation Lasers
Feng-Ming Hsu,Yuan-Yuan Sung,San-Liang Lee,Hung-Wen Hung,

Chirp management scheme is proposed for transmitting four 10-Gb/s channels over 100 km in long-reach TWDM-PON systems by using direct modulation lasers as transmitters. This scheme can increase the extinction ratio, reduce the effect of inter-symbol interference caused by fiber dispersion, and provide wavelength locking of the laser.

Tzu-Hsuan Pan Design and Simulation of Mode (De)multiplexers on SOI using Asymmetrical Directional Couplers
Tzu-Hsuan Pan,Shuo-Yen Tseng,

We design adiabatic mode (de)multiplexers using asymmetrical directional couplers (ADCs) on SOI ridge waveguides. We simulate light propagation in the designed (de)multiplexers by the eigenmode expansion method and demonstrate that the ADCs can achieve efficient mode coupling.

Chia-Rung Lin Fiber-Wireless and Fiber-VLLC Convergence Systems
Chia-Rung Lin,Bo-Rui Chen,Dai-Hua Lin,Chung-Yi Li,Chun-Yu Lin,Hai-Han Lu,

A hybrid wavelength-division-multiplexing lightwave transport system for millimeter-wave/microwave/ baseband signals transmission based on fiber-wireless, fiber-visible laser light communication (VLLC) convergences is demonstrated. Over a 40-km single-mode fiber and an 8-m RF wireless/a 10-m free-space VLLC transmission, bit error rate for 60-GHz millimeter-wave, 30-GHz microwave, and 5-Gbps baseband signals transmission.

AliAkbar Nikoukar A New Mechanism to Handle Inter-Domain VoIP Traffic in EPON
I-Shyan Hwang,AliAkbar Nikoukar,

In this paper, we propose a new mechanism to handle the VoIP calls belongs to the Ethernet passive optical network (EPON) users. Functions and a table are added to the ONU to forward inter-domain traffic to the new queue. A new DBA is proposed to support inter-domain voice traffic. The DBA is delayed inter-voice traffic under ITU recommendation end-to-end delay.

Kun-Lin Hsieh Stable Locking Dynamics of Semiconductor Lasers for Photonic Microwave Amplification in Radio- over-Fiber Links
Kun-Lin Hsieh,Sheng-Kwang Hwang,

Stable locking dynamics of Semiconductor lasers is proposed as a mean to optically achieve microwave amplification. Instead of optical carrier suppression, modulation sideband enhancement is adopted to improve optical modulation depth and therefore to enhance microwave power. The phase noise is also investigated to ensure the microwave quality after amplification.
